Getting Organized - yeah right!

Around the house we are continuing to attempt to rearrange and get a room ready.  This has been the constant state of our dining room for a few months now.  It is the sorting area, staging area, dumping area and all around collection point.  Some day it might look normal again?

I also have been working on a craft project for the little one.  My friend Courtney inspired me to make my own burp clothes and wash clothes.  It has been a fun project.  Although I am not very fast so it has been coming together over the course of time.  I am almost done with all of them now.  I made enough so that I can give some away to other friends having babies too!

Here are the wash clothes - they are all done.  They came out in random sizes because I used all the left over material.

Here are my burp clothes - I have about 4 left to finish.  Some have cream backing and some have pink - I like how they turned out.  Just don't look too close at the stitching.  I am neither a patient sewer or perfectionist when it comes to these projects.  It was great to spend time with friends Courtney, Evelyn and Melinda as we prepared and got started.  Melinda just had her little guy Owen and now she is putting these things to good use.

I think I've got the colors and fabric ready . . . here is a sneak peek.  Now I have a lot more work to do to get the nursery ready.  Well, me and my mom!!

And finally I've been washing and sorting baby clothes.  It is pretty fun to go back and remember Addy so tiny.  Addy has been so into looking at the clothes and seeing her pictures in these different clothes when she was just a baby.

I have the hardest time attempting to capture a picture . . . here is my latest effort at about 29 weeks. So this is about a week ago or so. Measuring big already, which is the same as last time.

I realized tonight I have failed to capture many of our recent moments via camera.  Oh well, I suppose that means I am really in the moment. :)

We've had a couple of great weeks, with nice weather.  Yesterday we enjoyed a lovely trip with my parents up to the Tacoma Rainiers game.  We had a blast!

Around here we are still trying to fit in time to get organized and ready for baby.  Last night and tonight I am sorting baby clothes.  Its funny to see that I kept a lot of things but they seem to be a bit older.  I definitely need to stock up on the smaller sizes.  I assume these were tossed as they were probably pretty dirty in the end.

Addy is having a good time going through the clothes and seeing what she used to wear and how small she used to be.  I've been digging out photos to prove that she was actually that little once.

Addy started her private swim lessons with her friend Savannah today.  So exciting because she's finally conquered her fear of putting her face in and is ready to learn more advanced swim work.  Savannah is more advanced so we are hoping that will keep Addy moving in the right direction.  She seemed really happy with her first lesson today.  Hoping by the winter she'll be more comfortable in the water and we can plan an outing to Great Wolf Lodge.



Preparations

I will admit that we haven't been focused on getting ready for our new addition.  It seems like life is so busy.  Slowly we are moving in the right direction - I think.

A few weeks ago some friends and I got together to work on burp clothes.  I of course was not prepared and didn't get a lot of it done that day - but I got to help Melinda with hers.  So fun - she is due with a baby boy any day now.  I finally got around to getting out my machine and getting started.

I have about half of my wash clothes and burp clothes completed.  I will keep a bunch and also have some to give as gifts to friends.  We have about a ton of friends pregnant right now.  I have a lot more to go, but it was really fun to see a finished product.

Today we started really getting down to the fun stuff.  Moving furniture, sorting stuff and planning space for baby were all on the agenda.

Making room for furniture to be moved around.  It is amzazing how much stuff can be crammed into one room.  We are turning our den into the baby's room and trying to empty that room is a chore.

That is right I condensed my clothes down to one shelf to make room for Scott's things in our closet.

Look the baby's closet is starting to empty out!! The games are already gone too now.

Now, I wouldn't want anyone to look at this post and think that we have it all together . . . least you feel bad, here is a shot of real life - our garage in real time.

Water Slide

Just another plus of our new playset - situating the pool under the slide.  This is good times!!  I am a little jealous I can't enjoy this fun.  These shots are from last weekend.  Yesterday we did the same thing, but added a water slide element by putting the hose at the top of slide to create a real water slide down to the pool.  So fun!

These are from last weekend - we spent the morning at the Farmer's Market and Addy got her face painted.

This was an attempt to get a picture of her cheek with her face painting - apparently that wasn't in the plan.  We get to see the plain side instead. :)
