Adventures at Bath Time

Addy is getting very adventurous during bath time. She loves to stand up, try to walk, splash and put her face in the water!

Little loves the splash:

Checking out her tummy:

This is the only book she actually likes to look at:

Every time I'd hold the camera up, she'd do this sideways head thing:

Big time fun!

Smiles for the camera!

Can't wait to get her into swim lessons next month!

Sun, Rain, and Weddings

As far back as I can remember September is one of the best months of the year in Olympia. Sunny days, a bit on the cooler side in the morning and evening - the exact reason we picked this month to get married outside 8 years ago. (Happy Anniversary Scott!) We went to two weddings on Saturday and what an experience we had!

Both weddings were beautiful and we were so happy to be a part of the celebration. The first at 3 pm was indoors with gorgeous sunny skies outside, and at the conclusion of the ceremony the bride and groom rode off to the reception in a horse drawn carriage under the beautiful sun. (Congratulations Amy and David!) A mere 30 minutes later about 7 miles away we were pelted with a heavy rain shower for the outdoor wedding we were attending. There was a truly blessed break in the rain and the ceremony took place under a beautiful arbor with the sun shining down through a break in the clouds. (Congratulations Ali and Doug!)

The sun dress we put Little in and the light weight party dress I wore worked well for the first wedding - not so well for the second. But we made do - nothing will keep us from the party!

Here is Little in her wedding finery! This was her first time in frilly socks and her first time in shoes! So precious . . .

As the weather turns its time for pants and long sleeves!

This is a magical time of year with a one year birthday right around the corner!

Our boys in blue :(

Even with the 12th man . . . and 12th little girl the Seahawks couldn't win. It was a sad day, but we did our best to cheer on our team!

Little looks like a boy here, huh? :)

But, don't worry - I think I'm still going to win my fantasy football game! :)

The Zoo

After a summer of trying to get together we finally got the chance to go to the zoo with our friends Mardi, Gary and Stanley. We had a great time!

I even braved the butterfly exhibit. (Although at one point I thought I might lose it and run screaming from the tent.) NOT a butterfly fan!

The zoo has a carousel there - we couldn't ride on it when we first got there because it was roped off for a special group. The National Carousel Association convention was in town, they were having a ceremony. Finally when we were leaving they had opened the carousel back up and we got the chance to ride it. We barely made it on though because the convention folks were still there. We almost got crushed in line with these people behind us trying to get on . . . apparently the convention leader was going to let them ride "one more time". Mind you this was like 4 hours later. (I am not making this up.)

Just in case you were wondering we are all now members of the National Carousel Association!

What a great family outing!

Sick Day

Today Addy and I stayed home in hopes of having a quiet day so she can get over her sniffles. I am not sure that we helped much, check out the bruise she got on her forehead:

Oops! :(

Addy was down for the count for her nap, she just stayed in the same position when I put her in the crib:

We did have some fun:

Happy Friday! And go away sniffles!

The Hair is Back!

At least for a short time . . . Addy's hair was standing up quite nicely tonight.

Pretty cute!

Military Families

This morning we headed out to the Military Family Support March sponsored by Scott's Rotary group. We got up early and were greeted with an absolutely beautiful day for raising money for such a great cause! All money goes to the families of military personnel overseas and those that have lost spouses or children in the war. (For those that don't know - here in Olympia we live about 15 -20 minutes away from two active military bases, Ft. Lewis Army Base and McChord Airforce Base.)

Addy enjoyed the balloon she got.

We had the chance to honor an amazing group of soldiers that have recently returned. Here is the raising of the flag:

Addy met some new friends:

This was interesting . . . a helicopter dropped bags and bags of candy into a roped off area for the kids to grab. Can you see all the candy falling out of the helicopter?

Here is Addy and Daddy:

Addy was happy to wave the flag.

Thanks for all those that came out today with us for the march.

Testing Video

We've finally figured out how to get video uploaded. This is a small clip of Addy coming over to see what is going on with the camera.

Hopefully now that we've got this figured out we can share in the future.

Addy is a STAR!

Check out Addy's dinner show . . . this is a true star!

(That is one of her Gerber baby food stars stuck on her nose.)

I know I've mentioned it before but Little loves bath time. As soon as we fill the tub and take her into her room to get undressed she is out the door and on the way to the bathroom. Here she is on the run:

She's so fast that before I could get another picture this is all there was:

Let me in the tub!

Yessssss . . . I'm in!

There are so many cute outfits to dress Little in . . . this is one of my favorites. Today we had her in her strawberry ruffle pants. They are just too cute. (Notice she's in the bathroom again, checking out the tub. This is even before bath time.)

Just a sweet picture!

Have a great weekend!

What a weekend!!

Wow! We sure packed a lot into this weekend. I am almost too tired to get this blog done tonight.

It started with some fun in the sun, Addy wore the beautiful dress her Great Aunt Pam and Great Uncle Keith gave her for Christmas last year. She got tons of compliments on her pretty dress!

On Saturday we had a picnic in the park with Grandma and Grandpa T. Addy sure loves the swing.

And check out Daddy and Little - Daddy is talking with his brother Chris on draft strategies (see below).

Then came the draft . . . it is fantasy football time in the Daukas-Todorovich household. This means that for the next five months poker becomes the second topic of conversation and football takes center stage. This year I am in a league with my very special sister-in-law Tara. (Pigskins and Purses!) I have my very own team. So, Sunday was draft day for both Scott and I - and at the same time no less. We spent most of the day "preparing" for the 3 hours that we would be drafting together, and be trying to feed and watch Addison. We had the den decked out with two computers, every toy and kitchen utensil you can imagine. Little's food was all ready ahead of time.

The draft went off without a hitch. It was exhausting to be keeping an eye out for Addy and trying to keep track of everything in the draft (for both of us). But I came out with a good team, could be the team to beat!

Meanwhile, Little got fed - if not very well. Her high chair was pulled right up to the desk with our computers. Check this out:

Can you see all the food stuck on her cup? None of us could keep a grip on it.

And did you catch that we forgot a bib? Not sure "cutie" fits.

Today we had some of our friends over to hang out and BBQ. We had a great time.

Check out Gracie and Addy together:

I am starting to realize that getting "all the kids together" for a photo is a bit harder then one would think. Here is the best we got:

And Gracie reminded me we needed a silly group photo:

Gracie then thought she better take a picture of the adults together. She did a great job.

And of course Gracie thought it would be a great idea to have a "silly" picture with the adults as well. (Notice all the kids looking around going, what the heck are these people doing?)

Gracie also got a shot of Addy and I together.

Ava and Addy decided to chill and share some quesadillas together.

We need the week to recover from this busy weekend!
