Spending Time with Grandma and Grandpa T.

A couple times a month Addy spends the day with Grandma and Grandpa T. They always have a blast. Last Friday they spent time at the Farmer's market and waterfront.

She loves the stairs! Grandpa is helping her learn to slide down the stairs.

Thanks Mom and Dad for your great care! Can't you tell she loves it:

Have a great week!

Taking a Break

I just love this photo of Addy taking a break with a pillow and quilt my friend from work Evelyn made her!

Mr. Bear and Addison

Remember Addy's sweet monthly photos with her huge bear? Here are a couple to jog your memory . . .

Addy and Mr. Bear at 2 months:

Addy and Mr. Bear at 7 months:

Addy and Mr. Bear at 10 months:

Now Addy can manhandle Mr. Bear around like nobody's business! He isn't so big anymore.

I am not sure Mr. Bear is happy about this development!

Busy with Bunnies

It seems like before you know it you realize you've neglected the blog! I've been busy with the usual stuff - and some rather unusual things. We have a nest of baby bunnies in the yard! They are so sweet and tiny. We found it when Cinammon and Daisy torn into the nest and killed one of the babies. My parents came over and helped us fence the area off with Addy's baby play pen gate and now I spend my time chasing wildlife, neighborhood cats and my own two dogs away from the area. There are still 5 babies alive and well. The good news is that the mommy bunny seems happy with the set up and is continuing to visit her babies. When they get a little bigger I'll try to get a picture. I try to stay away right now, they have good fur but their eyes are still closed.

Wyatt came over for a playdate all by himself last weekend. He and Addy did really well.

The kids helped dump and pick up balls in the backyard and checked out the backyard trail:

We all went on a wagon ride to see the big dig-dig down the street.

And of course, there was some chase.

Also, last weekend Addy tried hummus for the first time. She loved it! She wouldn't eat the flat bread but just kept licking all the hummus off. She kept smashing the entire piece of bread against her face to suck all the hummus off - she was a mess - but a happy mess!

It seems like for a while now Addy hasn't liked to take pictures, she gets pouty when the camera comes out - and not in the super-model, pouty-is-good kind of way. But she's changed her approach again . . . now she's a "cheeser". Here is one of her new famous "cheese" poses. Literally she cries cheese as loud as she can while tilting her head upward and bearing all her teeth!

Say cheese . . .

Weekend Activities

Addy tried out a couple of new things this weekend:

1) Addy wore a dress out on Sunday. She never wears dresses and she looked so cute. Normally she doesn't enjoy them, but this time she seemed very comfortable.

Unfortunately we learned the hard way that unprotected knees can get scraped. Addy got her first major knee scrape. Poor thing!

2) Ice cream cones RULE!!!

The pictures speak for themselves. :)

Look Out - Streaker on the Loose!

ALERT: Shortly after 7pm on Friday night reports began to come in regarding a possible streaking incident in a residential neighborhood. The following images are graphic in nature and may be disturbing to some.

Cinnamon the dachshund was interviewed shortly after the incident occurred, "I wasn't sure what was happening at first. I was tucked under the blanket when all of a sudden I heard running steps all around me. When I got up to see what was going on, I almost fainted. For goodness sakes, there was a naked kid running right by me!"

Daisy Mae, Cinnamon's sister added, "Darnedest thing I've ever seen. You think you know your neighbors and then one day something like this happens."

The streaking child's parents couldn't be reached for comment.

Fraggle Rock Anyone?

Do any of you remember Fraggle Rock? (Loved it.) Doesn't this pic of Addy with her hair up in piggies on her head like this remind you of Red? Too funny!

Okay, I think I jinxed us with my lovely weather blogging - we got snow last Saturday - April 19th??????!!! How crazy is that? I've lived here my whole life and never seen snow in April.

Fianlly, check out Addy on Monday morning. We peek in to see her like this:

She is definitely getting into her clothing. She likes to try to put things on and take them off! Look out!

Grandma and Papa D.

We also got the chance to visit with Scott's parents recently. They braved the airline issues and came up to visit us last weekend. They had great timing and got to enjoy the nice weather. Addy had a great time hanging out with them.

We had a great lunch together at a local pub and Addy got a balloon on her way out the door. Can you tell she liked it?

She wouldn't let it go in the car on the way home. We had to strategically hide it once we got home to get her to think about nap time. :)

Addy had to show off a little on her trike (which really means climb on it and wait for someone to push her around on it. Grandma D. did a great job!):

Addy got a present - a new baby named Annie! She says it "Onnie"! She really loves it and took it to bed with her.

After dinner on Saturday (remember the beautiful weather?) we went for a wagon ride around the neighborhood.

Stealing Papa D's glasses and trying them on was so fun!

And of course it is always great to snuggle up and watch the Wiggles with Grandma D.

(And yes, that is our table laying on its side in the background - we were fixing a wobbly leg.)

Thanks for coming and visiting!! We love you guys!

Enjoying the Weather

So as you may have caught onto in my last post, we had GREAT weekend weather around here. We got out early on Saturday to start enjoying it! We took Addy down to the waterfront and farmer's market for some sunshine and fun. She loved the waterfront and had a blast checking out everyone at the market.

Check out the scenery we were treated to at the waterfront:

Addy was having a great time running around, saying hi to dogs and waving at other kids.

Addy was thrilled to throw rocks into the Sound, and tried to run into the water after each toss.

We had to keep a close eye on her on the dock. She was ready to try some salt water swimming.

We are ready for some more Saturday mornings like this!

Why I live in Olympia

I don't normally make you read a whole lot on my blog . . . see some pics and send you on your way. But, I have to spend one moment and tell you that I love where I live. Now picture a harsh winter (for these parts), horrific flooding, and more rain in the last few months then you can imagine (especially you all down in AZ). Even in the darkest, dampest moments a true pacific northwesterner will dig deep and hold out for those days that make it all worthwhile. Because I am here to tell you that you haven't experienced a perfect day until you break out of 6 months of rain, haze and cold to see beautiful skies, sparkling green and smell the unmistakable smell of the northwest in the spring. It is truly magical - and a gift to enjoy while it lasts. Friday was a perfect day and it was great timing because Addy was really feeling back to her old self. We got to have a wonderful picnic at the park with the Peltons!

Addy's motor skills are really improving. A month ago she couldn't do this by herself! She goes around and around, up the stairs across to the slide, down the slide (by herself) and back around to the stairs. She never gets enough!

We had a great game of catch going:

Is this girl feeling better or what!?

Even if we have to wait another two months for more we got a sneak peak of why we live in this wonderful place!
