Resolutions

Its half way through the year (about) and I was reflecting on my resolution. As you know year of the gardener started out with a bang and then hit a rather large (35 pound, orange shaggy beast) bump. So, we are doing what we can with the yard and gardening -but my primary goal is to make it to fall without major holes, torn up bushes or any more puke from eating the wrong things in the yard on my carpet. (Isn't it funny how quickly priorities change.)

Based on my modified plan above I've taken some time to reflect. And really what I mean here is that I got very ill recently and have spent the last two and a half months (yes, months) trying to get better. I had to take an entire week off of work, and have limited to my social life to the person at the starbucks window and hoping I see a neighbor when watering the pots.

I spent a lot of time sitting in my house - which is unusual for me. And I've realized that we moved in almost 6 years ago - I decorated and haven't touched anything since. So . . . I am adding to my resolution list. I am replacing some of my gardening adventures with re-doing my front room.

I've gotten one project done - HELLO - can I just brag and say I actually made these myself. Crafts people - this is exciting. I have hated this freakin' metal thing I hung up years ago - forever! I can never figure out what to do with it.

Thanks to a friend, I got this idea and modified it to work with my new favorite piece of metal.

And now I have to find the perfect paint. (This seems like a lot of pressure - which one, which one????????)

Meanwhile in an attempt to show me her excitement at this new plan Biscuit decided to do some re-decorating (remodeling) herself. Yup. That is sheet rock people.

So, new adventures await me as I finally toss the 9 different prescription medications I've been on for weeks. So thankful to be feeling better each day!!

AND . . . for extra credit points as I was taking pictures of my new art work I walked by the kitchen and was proud that I had a blueberry, cream cheese and pecan coffee cake with lemon icing on the stove. The domestic goddess is not dead, she lives on! (Really, I was just so bored being stuck at home I had to do something.)
