Weekend Activities

Addy tried out a couple of new things this weekend:

1) Addy wore a dress out on Sunday. She never wears dresses and she looked so cute. Normally she doesn't enjoy them, but this time she seemed very comfortable.

Unfortunately we learned the hard way that unprotected knees can get scraped. Addy got her first major knee scrape. Poor thing!

2) Ice cream cones RULE!!!

The pictures speak for themselves. :)

Look Out - Streaker on the Loose!

ALERT: Shortly after 7pm on Friday night reports began to come in regarding a possible streaking incident in a residential neighborhood. The following images are graphic in nature and may be disturbing to some.

Cinnamon the dachshund was interviewed shortly after the incident occurred, "I wasn't sure what was happening at first. I was tucked under the blanket when all of a sudden I heard running steps all around me. When I got up to see what was going on, I almost fainted. For goodness sakes, there was a naked kid running right by me!"

Daisy Mae, Cinnamon's sister added, "Darnedest thing I've ever seen. You think you know your neighbors and then one day something like this happens."

The streaking child's parents couldn't be reached for comment.

Fraggle Rock Anyone?

Do any of you remember Fraggle Rock? (Loved it.) Doesn't this pic of Addy with her hair up in piggies on her head like this remind you of Red? Too funny!

Okay, I think I jinxed us with my lovely weather blogging - we got snow last Saturday - April 19th??????!!! How crazy is that? I've lived here my whole life and never seen snow in April.

Fianlly, check out Addy on Monday morning. We peek in to see her like this:

She is definitely getting into her clothing. She likes to try to put things on and take them off! Look out!

Grandma and Papa D.

We also got the chance to visit with Scott's parents recently. They braved the airline issues and came up to visit us last weekend. They had great timing and got to enjoy the nice weather. Addy had a great time hanging out with them.

We had a great lunch together at a local pub and Addy got a balloon on her way out the door. Can you tell she liked it?

She wouldn't let it go in the car on the way home. We had to strategically hide it once we got home to get her to think about nap time. :)

Addy had to show off a little on her trike (which really means climb on it and wait for someone to push her around on it. Grandma D. did a great job!):

Addy got a present - a new baby named Annie! She says it "Onnie"! She really loves it and took it to bed with her.

After dinner on Saturday (remember the beautiful weather?) we went for a wagon ride around the neighborhood.

Stealing Papa D's glasses and trying them on was so fun!

And of course it is always great to snuggle up and watch the Wiggles with Grandma D.

(And yes, that is our table laying on its side in the background - we were fixing a wobbly leg.)

Thanks for coming and visiting!! We love you guys!

Enjoying the Weather

So as you may have caught onto in my last post, we had GREAT weekend weather around here. We got out early on Saturday to start enjoying it! We took Addy down to the waterfront and farmer's market for some sunshine and fun. She loved the waterfront and had a blast checking out everyone at the market.

Check out the scenery we were treated to at the waterfront:

Addy was having a great time running around, saying hi to dogs and waving at other kids.

Addy was thrilled to throw rocks into the Sound, and tried to run into the water after each toss.

We had to keep a close eye on her on the dock. She was ready to try some salt water swimming.

We are ready for some more Saturday mornings like this!

Why I live in Olympia

I don't normally make you read a whole lot on my blog . . . see some pics and send you on your way. But, I have to spend one moment and tell you that I love where I live. Now picture a harsh winter (for these parts), horrific flooding, and more rain in the last few months then you can imagine (especially you all down in AZ). Even in the darkest, dampest moments a true pacific northwesterner will dig deep and hold out for those days that make it all worthwhile. Because I am here to tell you that you haven't experienced a perfect day until you break out of 6 months of rain, haze and cold to see beautiful skies, sparkling green and smell the unmistakable smell of the northwest in the spring. It is truly magical - and a gift to enjoy while it lasts. Friday was a perfect day and it was great timing because Addy was really feeling back to her old self. We got to have a wonderful picnic at the park with the Peltons!

Addy's motor skills are really improving. A month ago she couldn't do this by herself! She goes around and around, up the stairs across to the slide, down the slide (by herself) and back around to the stairs. She never gets enough!

We had a great game of catch going:

Is this girl feeling better or what!?

Even if we have to wait another two months for more we got a sneak peak of why we live in this wonderful place!

Last Week

As Addy was slowly recovering from her illness she needed a little chocolate hit to make the medicine go down . . .

And you know she's getting her appetite back when . . . she's sucking on ribs! She didn't want any of the sandwich I made for her. She begged to share my dinner. (Scott's co-worker was nice enough to send some smokey, wonderful ribs home for us.)

She even felt up to taking out the garbage with Daddy . . . and Cinnamon!

By Friday she was back to her old self! YEAH! And wait until you see how we celebrated!

Happy 18th Months Addy!

Saturday was Addy's 18th month birthday. Unfortunately, there wasn't much celebrating going on. Earlier in the week Addy got sick with a very high fever, we spent 3 worry-filled days trying to figure out what was going on and comfort her as best we could. The doctor ran a lot of tests that didn't help find a cause.

After Addy broke out in a rash head to toe last night we were able to determine it is the roseola virus. Not dangerous, just very yucky. Not the best way to celebrate the big 1-8-month. We'll make up for it when Little is feeling much better.

She's got red spots and red streaks all over her little face too!

Lets hope Addy starts feeling better and the rash goes away very soon!
