Scott's Big Day

Addy and I had a chance yesterday to go with Scott and check out the finished product of two years of very hard work. Scott has been overseeing the creation of a credit union branch inside the new Aberdeen High School (Aberdeen is a small town about an hour southwest of Olympia). They just completed building a brand new high school and yesterday was the grand opening. Scott, Addy and I went down to check out the new school and the new branch Scott's worked so hard on!

Here is Scott with Addy - she's got her pom-poms ready to go! She's a natural teller . . .

Here they are outside the branch.

It is so cool, the kids and teachers will be able to bank right on campus. Some of the students will actually be employed as tellers to learn about banking from the inside out and the other students will learn about being financially responsible.

Congratulations Scott on finishing this project!!

Addison's Adventures

Here are some shots from the week:

We have our very own built in smell detector. Check out Daisy Mae behind Addy. She's letting us know that Addy needs a change. (Just add this to the list of why you should own a dog!)

The dogs and cats interacting with Addison always provides a source of amusement (and sometiomes frustration). Here's Addy trying to get the kitties on the stairs. If anything will get this girl up on her feet and walking it will be chasing down kitties - she loves them.

One of our favorite dinners is spagetti - using Scott's mom's recipe for the sauce. It is so good! Addy tried it for the first time this week - I think it was a winner!

Check out Addy's nose in this picture - she has a noodle up her nose!

Now that Addy's crawling and exploring more she is finding all kinds of new toys to play with . . .

She loves smacking the spoon on the pot and making LOUD sounds - she is so proud of herself.

I am pretty proud that Addy finally decided to look at a book. (Okay, its a picture book, but it still counts.)

But, of course a girl has still got to keep up on her gossip too!

Did you hear about what happened to Britany this week . . .

My New Hat

Grandma and Grandpa T. took a trip to Seattle this week and brought Addy back a present.

Her first Mariner's hat:

Isn't it cute? Go team!

10 months & Changes

Here are Addy's 10 month bear photos:

This month has brought a lot of change. For example Little is crawling all around the house. We've also noticed something else over the last week. Little's hair is starting to lay down more. I should probably be excited about this, but I am actually sad. I love her stick up hair.

It is very wispy and pretty - and seems to be getting longer every day.

Happy 10 months my sweet baby girl!

Crazy Crawling

I don't think I've ever made a post without a picture . . . but here it goes. I can't resist telling this story. Tonight caps our first week with a baby that is crawling. If you don't have kids - this is a big deal. Sunday night when Addy started crawling the whole dynamic of our household changed and it has been a little crazy. We chase her and intercept her a lot.

Scott left tonight and I was picking some things up around the kitchen while Addy played with some toys around the side of the counter in the family room. You know how there are some chores you do without even thinking about them? Well, I grabbed the dog's water dish to refill. Now, it is important to know that the water dish is Addy's most favorite thing right now, she loves to get her hands into it. Anyway, so I am at the sink filling the dish and I panic because I can hear thump, thump, thump coming from the general area of Addy. I just know she's going for the water dish. And like all the other times I go running around the counter to ensure she doesn't fall in.

As I round the counter I pause because she is heading right for it and the water dish appears to be missing. Immediately I look around, did Addy take it somewhere? Am I that out of it that I didn't catch her clunking that big dish around on the floor?

Now, if you know me at all you know I like to talk to myself and gesture wildly with my hands. So, once I can't seem to figure out what happened to the water dish I mutter some kind of comment and throw my hands up in frustration. At which point the water dish in my hand, full of fresh water, tips and the entire contents pour all over me.

And at that moment Addy looks at me and laughs.

Lions and Toilet Paper

Addy is crawling around all over the place now. She loves the dog's water dish and the drawers in her room!

Here is Addy with her new ride and push toy. The Lion's hair is fun like Addy's.

Addy also found a roll of toilet paper to check out. Notice in the second picture all the actual paper is gone. She tried to eat most of it and then tried to feed it to Daisy.

Little really likes doors. She will sit and move the door back and forth checking on each side of the door to see what is there.

By the way, I got stung by a wasp tonight and Scott told me to put an onion on it (which supposedly sucks out the bad stuff) and it totally worked - the swelling and pain went away immediately and never came back. And, yes even after a couple of attempts at washing my arm still smells a lot like an onion!

Zoo Time

Addy went on her first trip to the zoo on Saturday. We had a great time!

Addy really liked the aquarium the best. She liked all the water. So many bubbles and shiny things to look at . . .

She was really taken with the big walrus that kept coming by the window.

Each time he would pass, Addy would like at me like "What was that?"

We didn't spend too much time with the sharks, mommy couldn't take it!

What a fun adventure! She was all smiles when we got home.

Happy weekend.

Addy for President!

Little got this great onsie from Gramma T. when she came back from Washington D.C.

This blog sure would make for some fun reading if Addy got to the White House.

Trying to Crawl

Little is on the brink of crawling. The last couple of days she's getting up on her hands and knees and shuffling around.

Daddy tries to help show Little how it is done.

Here is Addy trying a few different times:

Sometimes she ends up flat on the ground and then attempts to eat the animal hair or fuzz she finds on the carpet.

Little sure gets excited about trying to crawl.

But it is hard work, Little had to take a break for a while:

Have a great week.
