Half Birthday Party
We have some half birthday's in the house! Charlotte is 6 months old today and Addy is just days shy of 5 and a half. It seems like this week has been marked with the milestones that reminds you they are growing up each day. Addy had her kindergarten assessment on Monday and Charlotte is getting her first tooth today.
Charlotte continues to be a smiley girl. She is starting to sit up with help, stand on her chubby little legs and is about a week or so from rolling around all over the place. She's taken to solids like a pro and finishes her dinner each night. Tonight I found her first tooth breaking through - by tomorrow night I suspect we'll be able to see it even better.
Addy is still just exploding with creativity - art, make believe, it doesn't really matter the forum, she is in it. I love her passion and single minded focus on her projects. She loves to celebrate and Grandma and Grandpa made St. Patrick's day very special. All of a sudden the girl is reading like a pro. Something clicked and she has expanded her vocabulary and her ability to piece words together has really grown in the last 3-4 weeks. She is so ready for kindergarten and some new challenges.
And then this just keeps it real . . . :)
Sometimes you just get them when they are living life. I love them even more in these moments.
What a blessing it is to watch these two lovely girls grow. I love them so very very much!

We are addicted
I admit it, Addy and I love to take pictures of Charlotte.
We find places to put her - isn't this clever, heart shirt, heart rug - and then Addy does a little song and dance for entertainment.
Sorry, we can't help it. We are addicted.
The end.

Bath Time
These are pretty self explanatory. I think we are close to moving to the bath tub - I am getting increasingly wet each night doing the sink routine. She is just starting to get more into bath time. She is getting the idea of splashing and is fascinated with the water.
So serious . . .
Oh boy, everyone laughs and squeals when I kick and splash. Aren't I funny?
Who me?

Things I like . . .
My friend and I were catching up the other day and we always go through a quick list of things we like or we are working on or reading, watching, listening to - it is a fun way to connect and share. And be embarassed about the things we are actually talking about!
I have XM or whatever it is called now and I am addicted to the 80's station. I have tons of 80's music that I listen to all the time. Recently I've found the 90's station, where were you hiding? More so then a lot of the 80's music (which is more early childhood) the 90's music brings me back to times I can still practically feel. I felt compelled to waste much of our time together sharing laughs over all the songs I've been singing along to on my way to work. (We laughed and laughed as we remembered so many classic 90's moments.)
For those of you my age I highly recommend finding a 90's station on Pandora or something - so entertaining. Do you remember some of these? You Say He's Just a Friend, Humpy Dance, Gettin' Jiggy Wit It, How Do You Talk To An Angel, Mmm Bop . . . there are too many to name. Sometimes I hear song and it really brings me back to a time and place. The funniest part is some of the songs I hated the most back then are the best to listen to now like The Groove is in the Heart. There are a few I can even remember exactly the moment I heard them for the first time - like Smells Like Teen Spirit.
I recommend finding some 90's music immediately, forgetting about what you should be doing and enjoy the moment. It is pretty fun. And if any of you want to cruise around in my minivan and listen to Ice Ice Baby you know where to find me!!

AZ Visitors
Scott's brother Chris came out to visit with his daughter Rylee last week. Both Scott and Addy were in heaven. Scott got to spend time with his brother and Addy and Rylee had a great time doing all sorts of fun things. Charlotte and I had a great time watching these four do their thing!
First order of business: Dress Up!
In preparation for the visit my Mom put together boxes of stuff for the girls to create an awesome store in the dining room. The girls had a blast selling us stuff the entire trip.
Initially Scott and I were freaking out a little bit about the snow coming down. But after realizing that Rylee had never really seen snow falling - this became a highlight of the trip. This is Wednesday night when it first started falling. Thursday morning the girls were able to play outside in the light dusting we got. Randomly we got seated with great people - one from DOT.
We went to Fujiyama the first night and the everyone had a great time.
Being silly was a must on the agenda. Often!
A sign of the fun! Notice the door barricade.
Taking a snack break. Poor Addy had a cold the hold time and she was a trooper - nothing was going to stop their fun!
Decorating cupcakes - yummy!
The pizza making went a little wrong.
No worries - just make it a calzone. A really ugly calzone. The other pizza turned out great - really.
Builidng a car trick to scare the Dads.
Playing the cupcake game.
End of the night chillin before bed.
Sharing breakfast with your friend.
Trader Joe's to find big foot.
Checking in at Charlie Safari for some crazy fun.
Puzzles!
The last night - everyone was tired!!
Snuggling together and watching the Winnie the Pooh movie was the perfect way to end the trip.
Thanks for coming out and visiting Chris and Rylee!!
