Just Playing

I've been terribly sick the last week and a half, feeling absolutely the worst. Addison was quite the help, just playing with her toys so that I could get some rest and Daddy could take care of the house.

Checking out her dinasour toy:

Atlanta, Savannah, Hilton Head, Ears and Teeth

Sorry for the delay in posting! We got back last weekend from a 10 day trip across the country and are still working at getting caught up and back into the swing of real life.

For those that don't know . . . for a few months we've been planning a trip to Savannah, Georgia and Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. We used our Disney timeshare points to stay at Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort. My parents came along and we had a great time!

We were very apprehensive about traveling with Addison, and the first day saw many of our fears realized (not in the way you are probably thinking). It started out well, we got out of the house and to the airport without incident. When we were getting Addy out of the carseat to go through security we realized she has a diaper explosion that went all the way up her back to her neck and had gotten the carseat all wet. I took her into the bathroom and changed her and Scott took the carseat and stroller with him to get cleaned up. It was 9:30am, we weren't even through security and we were sweating.

We got on the plane and Little was sleeping - which was great for take off. But, when an oxygen mask wouldn't stay put, we had to taxi back to the terminal for assistance. So the hour long wait lasted just the length of Addy's nap. But alas, Addy was a sweet girl and didn't give us any problems. In fact, she didn't give us a single problem the entire flight. We were the last plane to make it into the Atlanta airport before a severe thunder and lightening storm shut everything down. So after an hour delay on the front end and a five hour flight we sat on the plane on the runway an additional 2 hours!!! We were laughing at the absurdity of it all. And still Addy was happy, smiley and a very good girl.

We finally got off the plane, got our car and headed to the hotel. This was when Addy had finally reached her limit and wailed like nobody's business all the way to the hotel . . . the hotel that didn't have any power because of the storm. This is when I reached by limit and I joined Addy in some wailing. :)

We found another hotel and finally got everyone to bed and we survived. As I was drifting off to sleep I was wondering to myself is this really "vacation", this is a lot of work!

Things went great from there. We got to tour around Savannah, spent a wonderful 6 days in Hilton Head with Grandma and Grandpa T. and all around enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Unfortunately Little got an ear infection toward the end and began cutting her top 4 . . . yes, 4 teeth. So the plane ride home was not quite as fun.

Here a just a couple pics from the trip. I am working on a slide show to post this weekend. So, stay-tuned.

What is the deal with the face Little?

Anyway, check back after this weekend for all the good shots. Take care!

What does Addy do all day?

One might ask this question . . . and now you have the answer.

Addy spends time playing with her favorite friends Gracie and Gavin. In this shot Addy is showing her love to Gracie by grabbing her hair and pulling. I think that shows considerable love!

Addy is learning the importance of sharing. She even lets Gizmo sit in her swing.

Addy doesn't just sit back and expect to be taken care of all the time. When there is important work to be done Addy is on the job, with her Bob the Builder goggles. Safety first!

And most importantly Addy gets her snuggle time with Gracie.

Every day is a great adventure!

Busy Weekend

This weekend we were very busy and Addy did great. She hung out with us as we hit Babies "r" us, stopped at the mall, visited with friends, got groceries, visited with Grandma and Grandpa T, and tried out our new (and VERY loud) blender.

We got Little some new toys, you know the kind . . . for 6+ months. We got a lot of fancy toys but one of her favorites seems to be the 5.99 rock and stack. I think we all had one of these at some point right?

We visited the local farmer's market and visited with some friends. Little was all ready to go!

Here we are with our great friends Collin, Jody and Wyatt.

We also ran into our wonderful friends Trisha and Aaron. They are expecting their first baby in July. We can't wait to welcome Addison's new friend. Addy has already picked out a special gift for baby Rhema.

All weekend Addy has been making this funny face and playing with her tongue.

Papa D. and B-Day Bash

Last weekend Addy got a big surprise - Papa D came for a visit. She got to spend the whole weekend hanging out with him. We all had a great time together!

Addy also went to her first birthday party for her Friend Wyatt. She was all dressed up with her hat. (It didn't stay on long, she's learned how to pull hats off.) Addy was just starting in on her top two teeth and wasn't feeling all that great, she was fussy at the party and spit up all over our host's couch. Addy didn't seem to care, she feel asleep as soon as we left. I was left to drive home wondering how things could go so wrong in just one hour. :)

Catch-up Time

It has been a hectic couple of weeks for us - fun, but busy! Here are a few shots until I can sit down and make a real post . . .

Here is Little's 6 month photos with the bear (and without):

We ran out of bibs over the weekend and resorted to a bib I'd been saving for a little later, it provided full coverage! Little kept looking down at it and scaring herself with the big red head on it.

Cute Shots!

On Friday I ended up staying home most of the day with Addison. She came to work with me for a couple of hours and did really well visiting with everyone. In the afternoon we hung out at home together, just the girls.

Today we headed out to buy some flowers for the pots out front and Addy was looking pretty spiffy in her overall shorts Grandma and Grandpa T. got for her.

Easter!

We had a great Easter holiday. Grandma and Grandpa T. came over and fixed an AMAZING dinner for us! Addy got a special Easter basket. Here are some pics from the day:

We started the morning with an outing and Addy wore a pretty blue outfit with matching hat.

Addy has been playing non-stop with her new toys, but when she first got the basket she was mesmerized with the fluffy pink tissue paper. (Look, she's sitting up.)

Grandma T bought her a pretty pink Easter dress with the cutest french school girl cap! Little looked so sweet in it!

Six Months!

Addy turned six months old yesterday. This probably doesn't seem like a big deal, but let me assure you that for Scott and I it was a huge milestone. Even being sick with the flu (Jessica), a cold (Scott), a stomach virus (Addison) - we still had to pause for a moment at how amazing the last six months have been and be thankful for the amazing time we have had together as a family.

Then we moved on to complaining and fussing about not feeling so well. :)

Instead of the normal monthly photo with the bear, this month Little went and got professional portraits done. I am proud to say that she made it through like a true diva and got some great shots. Here are just a couple:

Happy Easter to everyone!

Grandpa T's Birthday and Easter Week

Sunday was time for celebration - Grandpa T's birthday bash. We had homemade pizza and cake. Addy got to wear her special tinkerbell dress that Scott got her from Disneyland.

Here is Addy looking pretty in her special tinkerbell dress:

And here is Addy deciding she wants to eat her special tinkerbell dress:

Here is Addy with Grandpa T. They are checking out the book Addy got Grandpa for his birthday called "Grandpa and me".

We are getting ready for Easter - to kick off Easter week Addy got in the spirit with this outfit (check out the faces):

Splish, Splash

Bath time is fun time around Little's place. We use the big tub so Little gets to have lots of toys. She likes to splash around and stir up the water so the toys bob and float close. She grabs them and chews until they slide back into the water. Then she splashes some more.

Addy isn't shy about getting wet and she likes to get the suds in her mouth:

In between splashing session, Little looks up at Daddy to get approval of all the splashes. She gets an A+!

This is my new favorite photo of Little, she's serious about her bath time. She'll chase a toy right into the water even if she gets a mouthful of subs.

Time to get all dried off:

Hey, its fun to play while getting dried too! I like to slap Daddy's arm:

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'

Addy is a mover and a shaker!! After weeks of teasing us with one roll here and one roll there Little has exploded onto the rolling scene with bold moves. Here are some shots from our session tonight!

She's getting ready - positioning the left wing for a side attack over the top:

Swinging over to get enough umph to get that big girl booty movin' in the right direction:

Gotta remember to bring the toy!

This is what happens when mommy tries to make Little sit up:

Addy has her eye on the blue toy and she's trying to figure out how to get to it:

She knows she has to roll, but she doesn't know how to roll that direction, so she rolls away from the toy. (She wasn't pleased to look over and realize the toy was further away.)
