What a brillant idea . . . a bowl-a-rama for employee recognition & office party event! The theme was 80's and we did it up. Check out the fun!
We were broken into 4 teams: Fast Times and DOH High, Girls Just Want to Have Fun with Ron, Everything that Bob's Not and The Gatekeepers. (Can you guess the team I was on? Duh. The Gatekeepers - its all ghostbusters baby!)
We ate, we bowled, we cheered, we laughed, and they were gracious enough not to kick us out and even played us 80's music!!
Neon - check
Big hair - check
leg warmers - check
Fishnet gloves - check
Was I rockin the 80's or not?
Oh yeah!!
Can you tell we were getting a lot of work done? We looked to damn good to work baby!
Imagine all the normal people wondering what the heck happened to HR??
Are we an 80's tribute or what? Karate Kid, Miami Vice (check out Ron in the cream pants) a rocker with a GNR shirt and more neon then you can look at without shades.
Yup, that is a fine head of crimped hair.
The Gatekeepers wore black t's that had been slimed. I added a litte quote that seemed approriate for DOH and the scientists there.
Even little Emily got to join us!
Team 1: Girls Just Want to Have Fun with Ron
Team 2: The Gatekeepers (plus the Michael tribute glove)
Team 3: Fast Times at DOH High:
Team 4: Everything that's Not Bob!
No vintage stores had to be raided here my friends, this is straight up out of Target and Forever 21.
Gotta say that our office is great, and on the very top of the list is for why is that we know how to have some fun!!

A Little Sun Makes It All Better
Loving the days of sunny weather we've been having! We are trying to get outside as often as possible. A little frisbee and a little hanging out in the sun . . .
Do they or don't they?
Its up to you to decide for yourself. Do they or don't they look alike? Scott and I go back and forth about how much they look alike. Even though it has only been 5 years I have a hard time remembering when Addy did things and made milestones, I have to look at my blog a lot to remember. Here are some similar pictures to compare. All of these are within about 2 weeks of each other in terms of age. Addy had more hair and darker hair, they both had two little bottom teeth and same noses and both didn't lack a little chub! Adorable.
The general concensus is that Addy and Charlotte do look a lot alike at this age. Addy definitely got more of Scott coming out at this age, where I think Charlotte looks a lot like me. Here is a pic of me to compare:

We have a problem . . .
There was a time when this cluster would bother me. I remember I used to be so excited to move out the baby stuff when Addy was transitioning through her stages. Anything I could do to hide, store or pack all her stuff gave me a sense of pleasure. Getting my house back over the last couple of years was really nice.
And then we started all over again. And most days my house looks like this:
I always have Charlotte's stuff shoved around the room. I try my best to keep it to the sides and cleaned up.
By mid-day there are always spots like this in the house where she's been playing and I have her pillow bumpers out.
And another area this afternoon in her room.
My counters in the kitchen always have various baby stuff spread out on them.
The inevitable carseat and high chair stuff on the kitchen table, mixed in with some crafting and toys of Addy's. I am not kidding when I say that I am pretty sure since Charlotte has come we haven't all sat down and eaten at this table together more then once, mostly because its always so full.
Confession time - Charlotte is still sleeping in her pack n play in our room. Not because she needs to but because I like it and I don't want to move her. It means she's getting too big and grown up.
Today once again I had to go through and clean out her clothes and switch out sizes. She is officially out of all the 6-12 month and 9 month clothes and into her 12 month and 12-18 month sizes. I should be happy to get rid of all these clothes. Instead I am hoarding them, stuffing them under the crib so I don't have to face the reality of giving them away.
Here's the deal people. I have a problem. I can't seem to help myself. I don't want this baby to grow up any time soon. I say to heck with a clean and neat house, to heck with decluttering, to heck with getting rid of old clothes. So, if you come over and you are wondering why I still have all the 4 oz bottles, newborn clothes and a pack n play in my room - at least you will be prepared. :) Maybe because when I had Addy I knew subconsciously we weren't shutting the door on any more kids it was easier to let go of each phase. But this time around I just want her to slow down and let me enjoy each little thing more.
Gosh I love this little one!! What a blessing she is for us. I couldn't be more blessed with these toy lovely little ladies in my life!! Love you Addy Bear and Charlotte!

We are recovering from a nice case of hand-foot-mouth at our house. Charlotte broke out last Sunday with it and got the worst of it with a fever and sores all over her body. Poor little love. She looked so miserable. Then of course Addy came down with it mid-week, didn't get the sores, but have the fever/flu part. Then by the end of the week I was down with it.
Even so, we keep going . . .
Addy dazzling us last weekend with her fashion sense:
This is too cute, the other night I come out and find the two of them in identical poses. Like father, like daughter I guess.
Look at these two:
Can you see the spots on her face? She had them everywhere, particularly in her diaper area, elbows, hands and feet. Blister on blister - I cried each time I undressed her. She was a trooper and got through it. Now they are all scabbed over and the scabs are falling off. So attractive.
This morning Addy dazzled us with this - she called it her rainbow outfit. I wish you could see her fingernails and toenails, we painted them with a bright summer color called flip-flop fantasy. Love it.
Just a cute one of little one here. She is feeling soooooo much better!
She is getting so big. Charlotte is 7 months old now. She's enjoying a cracker, some raspberries and her sippy cup. Can't believe she is getting so big. At her recent appointment she weighed in at 18.9 lbs.
Love baby feet. They are so cute. (Minus the skin peeling off from the blisters you can see if you look really close. So don't, cuz its yucky.)
